JOHN WESLEY DOBBS

John Wesley Dobbs is considered the unofficial mayor of Sweet Auburn. Dobbs co-founded the Atlanta Negro Voters League, leading voter registration efforts that registered 20,000 African Americans in Atlanta from 1936-1946. Dobbs had six daughters who all attended Spelman College.
